KER plastic corner bearings, also known as knife-edge rollers, are self-lubricating engineering plastic guide elements developed by CSB specifically for corner sections of conveyor machinery and material handling systems. Featuring a compact knife-edge corner structure, they are directly installed at corners for belt turning, diverting and merging to undertake belt folding and guiding functions. As an efficient alternative to conventional metal rollers and steel bearings, they are widely used in automated conveyor lines in food, pharmaceutical, logistics, packaging, electronics and other industries with strict requirements for cleanliness, corrosion resistance and low noise.
1. Product Features
Self-lubricating and maintenance-free. Made of EPB18, a high-performance engineering plastic independently developed by CSB as the standard material, the product is uniformly compounded with solid lubricants inside. No lubricating grease or oil is required during operation, delivering true "install-and-use, lifelong maintenance-free" performance, which greatly cuts daily equipment maintenance costs and downtime.
Low driving force. The material features a low friction coefficient, which significantly reduces running resistance of the belt at corners. Conveyors require lower driving power with remarkable energy-saving effects.
Dust-resistant and low-noise. Free of grease lubrication, the surface hardly attracts dust or debris, making it suitable for cleanrooms. Combined with the low-friction design, it operates smoothly and quietly to improve the working environment.
Chemically resistant and applicable to liquid environments. EPB18 provides full resistance to alcohol, non-additive oils, greases and fuel, and partial resistance to weak acids. It can withstand cleaning fluids, water washing and humid working conditions, fitting production lines for food and beverage that require frequent rinsing.
Compact deflection radius. The knife-edge corner structure minimizes the belt deflection radius, saving layout space for conveyor systems and enabling more compact line design to boost output per unit area.
Extended conveyor belt service life. The smooth contact surface at corners effectively reduces wear and fatigue at belt folding positions, markedly extending the service cycle of conveyor belts and lowering the frequency of consumable replacement.
Cost-effective. The engineering plastic material costs less than metal solutions. Together with maintenance-free performance, it reduces the total cost of ownership and delivers long-term economic benefits for enterprises.
2. Typical Application: Conveyor Belt Corner Positions
In conveyor systems, turning, diverting and merging sections are prone to belt wear, belt deviation and material jamming. The CSB-KER corner bearing is engineered to address these pain points. Mounted on corner guide rails or folding roller positions of conveyors, it guides smooth belt turning via self-lubricating rolling support. It ensures stable material transfer at corners without bouncing, accumulation or jamming, sustaining continuous and efficient operation of the conveyor line.
Its compact structure and low-friction characteristics make it particularly suitable for high-cycle, high-cleanliness corner stations such as food conveying, beverage filling, pharmaceutical packaging and logistics sorting. With outstanding corrosion resistance, CSB-KER can operate stably for long periods under water washing, disinfection and humid environments to meet stringent hygiene and cleanliness requirements. Whether for 90° turning, multi-way diverting or merging in linear conveyor lines, CSB-KER delivers reliable turning performance to guarantee smooth operation of the whole production line.
