Fire Safety for Moving Cable Systems | DURAMOV® FR Series Flame-Retardant Cable Drag Chains

During the design phase of automated production lines with high safety requirements, such as lithium battery manufacturing, automotive welding lines, semiconductor equipment and rail transit systems, equipment engineers attach great importance to the fire resistance of moving cables. They frequently specify high-flexibility drag chain cables with UL flame retardant ratings to mitigate fire risks caused by short circuits or overheating of wire harnesses. However, for the complete moving pipeline system, designers often overlook the fire performance of plastic drag chains, the external carriers protecting cables. Even when internal cables meet flame retardant standards, conventional plastic drag chains with a larger volumetric proportion still adopt combustible substrates rated UL94 HB. This creates a hidden fire weak point within the pipeline system.
