Oil-free Sliding Bearings Born in CSB

Recently, CSB has successfully developed the Oil-free sliding bearing CRB after 7 years of R&D work and tests. This bearing is processed by filament wound. Its load-bearing capacity, wear resistance performance and corrosion resistance are outstanding. The characteristic of Oil-free sliding bearing makes sure to exert its optimal lubricating performance even with no external lubricating medium.

Sliding bearings are usually called self-lubricating maintenance-free bearings. There are indeed some sliding bearings that can be temporarily or permanently without adding oil lubricant in actual work. However, the wear resistance performance of such bearings will increase several times or even tens of times if they are lubricated with oil. That is to say, this type of bearing also needs to be able to exert its best performance in the presence of external lubrication media. For example, the most commonly used sliding bearing is three-layer composite bearing; its self-lubrication mainly depends on the 0.03mm thick sintered PTFE lubricant layer on the surface. The maximum allowed linear velocity V of the bearing is 2m/s without external lubricating media, while the maximum allowed linear velocity V can reach 10m/s in oil lubrication. The maximum dynamic load P is also greatly increased due to the presence of external lubrication. We can see that the PV value of the sliding bearing with external lubrication is much greater than the limit PV value that can be achieved during dry friction.

Ma Zanbing, a CSB self-lubricating bearing researcher, said that the successful development of CRB filament-wound bearings is of great significance at the new product recommendation meeting. CRB filament-wound bearing has become the first oil-free sliding bearing product in the field of sliding bearings in China. It is also a typical use of sliding bearings in the aerospace materials industry, filling the gaps of non-metallic sliding bearings working under high load conditions of domestic market. The maximum dynamic load of CRB can reach 140MPa. The oil-free feature of CRB sliding bearings makes the joint motion parts of various facilities truly maintenance-free of lifetime and promotes the change of machinery from oil-needs to oil-free. In addition, CRB filament-wound bearings are more prominent in environment protection than other sliding bearings. Oil-free CRB sliding bearings make it avoiding the pollution to the environment which caused by the release of lubricating oil.
