What are the core differences between CSB-EPB engineering plastic bearings and ordinary metal plain bearings, and which industries are they suitable for?

CSB-EPB belongs to composite self-lubricating engineering plastic bearings, with solid lubricant components compounded inside. Unlike metal bushings and oil-impregnated powder metallurgy bearings, it does not require continuous oil supply and focuses on maintenance-free dry-running conditions. Metal bearings rely on an oil film; once lubrication fails, wear rises sharply. EPB bearings continuously release solid lubricant, making them suitable for oil-free and low-oil equipment. The material matrix covers general-purpose, high-temperature, humid/underwater, food-grade, chemical-corrosion-resistant, antistatic, and other series. The temperature span is -100°C to 250°C, covering everything from ordinary room-temperature general equipment to high-temperature chemical equipment. Applicable industries are very broad: general machinery, automotive parts, food packaging machinery, water treatment underwater equipment, pharmaceuticals, woodworking dust environments, fuel systems, etc. For example, EPB3 is used in woodworking machinery for high-load oscillating and rotating applications, resistant to dust and maintenance-free; EPB24 is dedicated to automotive fuel systems; EPB6/EPB23 are used in food packaging equipment and meet FDA food-contact requirements. However, the PV limit of plastic bearings is lower than that of metal bearings. The product of load and speed is constrained by the PV value, and they cannot directly replace metal bearings in high-speed heavy-load scenarios. Selection must calculate the PV value. Intermittent operation and lubrication conditions bring PV correction factors: dry running y2=1, grease lubrication y2=2, oil lubrication y2=4. The allowable load capacity of the same material is greatly increased. During design, correction must be made according to working conditions, and static parameters cannot be directly copied.
